George McDonald
George MacDonald (1824-1905) was a Scottish author, poet, and Congregational minister who pioneered modern fantasy literature and mentored Lewis Carroll. Best known for children's stories like At the Back of the North Wind and adult fantasies such as Phantastes and Lilith, he also wrote realistic novels, theology, and sermons influenced by his Christian faith. A Victorian-era bestseller, he lectured widely and drew inspiration from his Scottish roots.[1][2]
