George Macaulay Trevelyan
George Macaulay Trevelyan (1876–1962) was a prominent English historian and academic, known for his works on British history that emphasized the Whig tradition and appealed to general readers. A Fellow and later Master of Trinity College, Cambridge, and Regius Professor of Modern History (1927–1943), he was the son of Sir George Otto Trevelyan and great-nephew of Thomas Babington Macaulay. His notable books include 'England Under Queen Anne,' 'British History in the Nineteenth Century,' and 'English Social History.'
