George Bilgere

George Bilgere is a Distinguished Professor of English at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he teaches creative writing and modern/contemporary poetry and fiction.[2][5] He came to national prominence in 2002 when U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins selected his collection *The Good Kiss* to win the University of Akron Poetry Prize.[2] His poetry, noted for its controlled poignancy and accessible free-verse style, draws from everyday subjects and has appeared in prestigious publications including Poetry, Kenyon Review, and Best American Poetry.[1][2]
