George B. Asquith
George B. Asquith is a distinguished petroleum geologist and professor emeritus at Texas Tech University, where he earned his B.S. in geology before obtaining his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in the 1960s.[1][2][3] His career included research at ARCO and other petroleum companies, teaching roles, and returning to Texas Tech in 1988 as the Pevehouse Chair in petroleum geology, where he established the Center for Applied Petrophysical and Reservoir Studies.[1][2][4] Renowned for his book 'Basic Well Log Analysis' and awards like the Harrison Schmitt Award, he retired in 2022 but remains active in academia and teaching.[1][4]
