George A. Bray

George A. Bray, MD, is an internationally recognized American obesity researcher and Boyd Professor Emeritus at Louisiana State University's Pennington Biomedical Research Center. With over 2,000 scientific publications, he is considered a father of obesity research and has conducted influential work on the causes of obesity, dietary approaches to hypertension and diabetes prevention, and weight loss strategies[1][2]. He founded the North American Association for the Study of Obesity (NAASO) and served as its first executive director of the Pennington Biomedical Research Center from 1989 to 1999[2][4].
