Geoffrey of Monmouth
Geoffrey of Monmouth was a 12th-century British cleric and historian, best known for his chronicle 'Historia Regum Britanniae' (History of the Kings of Britain), which popularized the legends of King Arthur and Merlin. He was associated with Monmouth in Wales and served as Bishop of St Asaph. His works, though historically dubious, had a profound influence on medieval literature and the Arthurian tradition.
