Geoffrey Leech

Geoffrey Neil Leech was a renowned British linguist and philologist specializing in English language, corpus linguistics, stylistics, pragmatics, and semantics. He was a founding figure in corpus linguistics in England and authored over 30 books and 120 published papers, including the influential 'Principles of Pragmatics'. Leech served as a professor at Lancaster University from 1974 to 2002 and became an emeritus professor thereafter.
