Gene Zion

Gene Zion (1913-1975) was an American author of children's picture books, best known for creating the beloved "Harry the Dirty Dog" series. Born in New York City, he graduated from the Pratt Institute and worked as a freelance writer and designer from 1949 until his death, collaborating with artist Margaret Bloy Graham on his picture books until their marriage ended in 1968.
