Gary Shteyngart

Gary Shteyngart, born Igor Semyonovich Shteyngart in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), Russia, in 1972, immigrated to the United States with his family at age seven and settled in New York.[1][2] He is renowned for his satirical novels including The Russian Debutante’s Handbook (2002), Absurdistan (2006), Super Sad True Love Story (2010), and the memoir Little Failure (2014), which explore themes of immigration, identity, and contemporary society.[1][2][7] Shteyngart teaches at Columbia University and his works have been translated into thirty countries.[3][2]
