Gary M. Burge

Gary M. Burge (born 1952) is an American author, New Testament scholar, and ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) who serves as a professor at Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan[1][2]. He earned his Ph.D. from Aberdeen University in Scotland and previously taught at Wheaton College, where he specialized in the Gospel of John and the cultural background of Jesus[2][7]. Burge has authored numerous theological works, including commentaries on John, textbooks on the New Testament, and critical analyses of the Arab-Israeli conflict such as Whose Land? Whose Promise?[4].
