Gary D Schmidt

Gary D. Schmidt is an American author of children's and young adult fiction, best known for Newbery Honor books like Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy (2004) and The Wednesday Wars (2007), as well as National Book Award finalist Okay for Now (2011).[1][2][3] Born in Hicksville, New York, he earned degrees from Gordon College and the University of Illinois, and has served as a professor of English at Calvin University in Michigan.[1][3][4] He resides in Alto, Michigan, and his works often explore realistic themes.[3][6]
