Gary Burtless

Gary Burtless is an American economist and senior fellow emeritus at the Brookings Institution, known for research on labor markets, poverty, income distribution, pensions, and social insurance. He earned his B.A. from Yale College and his Ph.D. in economics from MIT, and previously served in U.S. government economic policy offices before joining Brookings in 1981.
