Gail Smith

Gail Smith is a prolific composer, arranger, and author specializing in piano music, known for her piano palindromes that can be played forwards or backwards sounding the same. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, in 1943, she earned a BFA from Florida Atlantic University and conducted graduate work at Westminster Choir College. She has authored books on piano improvisation and methods, arranged numerous hymns including women-written ones, and is active in organizations like ASCAP and the National League of American Pen Women.
