Gail Gibbons
Gail Gibbons (born November 24, 1944, in Oak Park, Illinois) is an acclaimed American author and illustrator of over 170 nonfiction children's books on topics like clocks, farms, animals, and volcanoes. She began creating picture books at age four, studied graphic design at the University of Illinois, worked in television graphics in Chicago and New York, and transitioned to children's books in the 1970s after encouragement from child participants on a TV show.[1][2][4][5]
