Frieda Wishinsky
Frieda Wishinsky is a German-born Canadian author of over seventy children's books, including picture books, chapter books, novels, and nonfiction, with her debut *Oonga Boonga* published in 1990. Born in Munich to Polish-Jewish parents, she grew up in New York City, earned a BA in International Relations and an MSc in Special Education, and taught special education in the US, Israel, and Canada before becoming a full-time writer. She now lives in Toronto, and her works have been translated into multiple languages and earned international awards.
