Freeman Henry Morris Murray

Freeman Henry Morris Murray (1859–1950) was an African American author, lecturer, editor, publisher, and civil rights activist based in Washington, D.C. He is especially noted for publishing *Emancipation and the Freed in American Sculpture* in 1916, widely regarded as the first book on African American art history.[1][4]
