Frederick Law Olmsted

Frederick Law Olmsted (1822–1903) was an American landscape architect, journalist, and social critic who is widely regarded as the father of landscape architecture in the United States. He co-designed iconic public parks such as Central Park in New York City and Prospect Park in Brooklyn, working closely with his partner Calvert Vaux. His visionary work helped establish the American profession of landscape architecture and promoted the idea that thoughtful green spaces are essential for a healthy society.
