Frank Northen Magill
Frank Northen Magill (1907-1997) was an American author and editor renowned for his reference works, founding Salem Press in 1949 and leading it until his retirement in 1996. He nominally edited major multi-volume sets such as the Survey of Science Fiction Literature (1979) and Survey of Modern Fantasy Literature (1983), though much of the work was handled by Keith Neilson. Magill produced distinguished biographical dictionaries and literary surveys over a career spanning more than forty years.
