Frank Byron Jevons

Frank Byron Jevons (1858–1936) was an English polymath, classical scholar, and academic administrator at Durham University, where he served as classical tutor from 1882 to 1910, principal of Hatfield Hall from 1896 to 1923, and vice-chancellor from 1910 to 1912.[1][3][4] He significantly contributed to popularizing comparative religion in the English-speaking world through works like *An Introduction to the History of Religion* (1896) and *Comparative Religion* (1910), applying evolutionary anthropology to Greco-Roman texts while advocating Christianity as the fulfillment of religious evolution.[1][2][4]
