Frank A De La Rosa

Frank A. De La Rosa, born in Panganiban, Catanduanes, Philippines, was a memoirist and jazz bassist who chronicled his childhood on a remote Philippine island during World War II in his book 'A Touch of Life.' He excelled academically, graduating as valedictorian from high school, served in the US Army, and built a storied music career performing with legends like the Rat Pack, Ella Fitzgerald, and Nat King Cole before retiring in 2003.
