Frances Wilkins
Frances Wilkins is a leading exponent of the English concertina, having taken up the instrument in the 1990s while immersed in Shetland's musical culture, where she began touring professionally and collaborating with top fiddle players. She now resides on the Isle of Skye and serves as a Senior Lecturer in Ethnomusicology at the University of Aberdeen's Elphinstone Institute. Her research centers on Scottish and Canadian musical traditions, complemented by performances and talks across northern Scotland.
