Frances Moore Lappe

Frances Moore Lappé (born February 10, 1944) is an American researcher and author renowned for her work in food and democracy policy, particularly her influential 1971 book *Diet for a Small Planet* which sold over 2.5 million copies[1]. She has authored 20 books focusing on themes of "living democracy" and co-founded three organizations addressing hunger, poverty, and environmental crises[1][6]. In 1987, she received the Right Livelihood Award for revealing the political and economic causes of world hunger[1][2].
