Forugh Farrokhzad

Forugh Farrokhzad (1934–1967) was an influential Iranian poet, filmmaker, and feminist icon known for her modernist poetry exploring female desire, sensuality, and rebellion against cultural restrictions. Born in Tehran to a military officer father, she married at 16 or 17, divorced after having a son, and pursued her career, creating the acclaimed documentary 'The House Is Black' (1962). She died tragically in a car accident at age 32, leaving a lasting impact on Persian literature.
