Fiona Macdonald is an Australian author known for writing over 300 books, primarily for children and adult new readers, focusing on ancient and medieval history, social history, and non-European civilisations. She studied at the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney, pursued Italian and English literature at university, and began her media career as a presenter on children's television. She has won the Times Educational Supplement’s prize for Senior Information Book of the Year and runs a toy shop selling her handmade dragons.
