Fernand Verger
Fernand Verger was a renowned French geographer and geomorphologist, specializing in coastal geomorphology and the effects of sea-level rise. He served as a professor emeritus at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris and as a director of studies at the École Pratique des Hautes Études, where he also led the IMAGÉO laboratory. Verger was an internationally recognized pioneer in the study of coastal regions and their environmental dynamics.
