Fannie Flagg
Fannie Flagg (born Patricia Neal) is an American actress, comedian, and bestselling author known for her novel *Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe*, which she adapted into an Academy Award-nominated screenplay for the 1991 film. Her career began in childhood with writing and performing plays, leading to work in television, including *Match Game* and *Candid Camera*, and novels focusing on small-town Southern life with strong female characters. She divides her time between California and Alabama.
