Evelyn Rothwell

Evelyn Rothwell, later known as Lady Evelyn Barbirolli, was a distinguished British oboist renowned for her solo performances and recordings, having studied under Leon Goossens at the Royal College of Music. She was married to the eminent orchestral conductor Sir John Barbirolli and performed with the Hallé Orchestra in Manchester during his tenure. Her career spanned the classical genre, and she is also noted as the author of 'Oboe Technique'.
