Erica Alfaro

Erica Alfaro is an award-winning author, educational advocate, keynote speaker, and the daughter of migrant farmworkers. Born in Fresno, California and raised in Tijuana, Mexico, she overcame academic struggles, teen motherhood, high school dropout, and domestic abuse to become the first woman in her family to earn a formal education and a graduate degree.[1][3] Her 2019 graduation photo in a strawberry field with her parents went viral and brought her story international attention.[1][3]
