Eric Lionel Mascall

Eric Lionel Mascall (1905–1993) was a prominent English theologian and priest in the Anglo-Catholic tradition of the Church of England, known for his philosophical exposition of the Thomist tradition and his role as Professor of Historical Theology at King's College London. He excelled in mathematics at Pembroke College, Cambridge, and was a leading orthodox Anglican theologian whose scholarly career spanned constructive ecumenical work in the 1950s and polemical critique of liberal developments in the Church of England during the 1960s and 1970s.
