Eric Hill
Eric Hill (1927–2014) was a British children's author and illustrator best known for creating the beloved lift-the-flap Spot the Dog series, starting with 'Where’s Spot?' in 1980, inspired by stories for his son.[2][4] He began his career as an art studio messenger, became a cartoonist and art director in advertising, and transitioned to full-time authorship after the success of his books, which sold over 60 million copies worldwide.[2][4] In 2008, he was awarded an OBE for services to children’s literature.[2][4]
