Eric Brown
Eric Brown (24 May 1960 – 21 March 2023) was a British science fiction author and longtime SF critic for The Guardian, known for over 50 books including acclaimed novels like Helix and Engineman[1][3]. Born in Haworth, West Yorkshire, he began writing at age 15 and won the British Science Fiction Award twice for his short stories[1][9]. He died of sepsis in Edinburgh at age 62 after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2022[1][3].
