Epicurus

Epicurus was an ancient Greek philosopher born on Samos who founded Epicureanism, a school that taught that the good life comes from simple pleasures, friendship, freedom from fear, and tranquility. He established his school, the Garden, in Athens, and his ideas on ethics and atomism influenced later philosophy for centuries.
