Enos A Mills
Enos Abijah Mills (1870-1922) was an American naturalist, conservationist, author, and homesteader best known as the 'Father of Rocky Mountain National Park,' which he campaigned to establish in 1915.[1][2] Born in Kansas, he moved to Colorado as a youth for health reasons, made over 300 ascents of Longs Peak starting at age 15, and was inspired by John Muir to dedicate his life to nature writing, lecturing, and preservation efforts.[2] Appointed a government lecturer by President Theodore Roosevelt, Mills authored numerous books and articles on nature until his death at age 52.[1][3]
