Emmanuel Lasker

Emanuel Lasker was a German chess player, mathematician, and philosopher who served as the second World Chess Champion from 1894 to 1921, holding the title for a record 27 years.[1][4] In his prime, he was one of the most dominant champions in history and made significant contributions to mathematics, including the notion of a primary ideal.[7] He remained active in intellectual pursuits until his death in New York at age 72.[7]
