Emma Smith
Emma Smith (born Elspeth Hallowes) was a British novelist and memoirist, best known for her autobiographical novel 'Maidens' Trip' and her later works such as 'The Far Cry' and 'Emily'. She drew on her experiences as a canal boatwoman during World War II and her travels in India, earning critical acclaim for her vivid prose and psychological insight.
