Elwyn R. Berlekamp

Elwyn Ralph Berlekamp was an American mathematician and computer scientist known for his foundational work in coding theory, combinatorial game theory, and the game of Go. He was a professor at MIT and UC Berkeley, and co-authored the seminal book 'Winning Ways' with John Conway and Richard Guy. He also founded Cyclotomics Inc., developing error-correcting code algorithms used in space probes and CDs.
