Elswyth Thane

Elswyth Thane, born Helen Ricker Beebe, was an American romance novelist best known for her 'Williamsburg' series of historical fiction. Born in Burlington, Iowa, she began her writing career in the 1920s, publishing her first novel Riders of the Wind in 1926, and later married naturalist William Beebe in 1927. She produced numerous works including fiction, biographies, and books for children until the 1970s.
