Elizabeth Abbott

Elizabeth Abbott is a Canadian writer, historian, and animal rights activist with a doctorate from McGill University in 19th-century history. She has served as dean of women at the University of Toronto and is the author of books on women’s issues, social history, Haiti, and human relationships, including A History of Celibacy, A History of Mistresses, and A History of Marriage.
