Elisa H. Barney Smith

Elisa H. Barney Smith is a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science, Electrical and Space Engineering at Luleå University of Technology (LTU) in Sweden, where she joined in Fall 2022 after a 22-year career at Boise State University in Idaho, USA[1][2]. Her research focuses on image processing, machine learning, computer vision, and their application to Digital Humanities and historical document analysis[2][5]. She is a member of LTU's Machine Learning group and the Embedded Internet Systems Lab (EISLAB)[2].
