Elisa Amado

Elisa Amado was born in Guatemala and emigrated to Canada in 1971, settling in Toronto. She is an accomplished author and translator of children's books, including Manuelito, What Are You Doing?, Why Are You Doing That?, and Clara and the Man with Books in His Window. Her work often reflects experiences of displacement amid Guatemala's turbulent history during the Cold War.
