Eleanor Wilner
Eleanor Wilner is an American poet born in 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio, known for writing poetry that engages politics, culture, history, and myth. She earned a BA from Goucher College and a PhD from Johns Hopkins University, and has been a faculty member of the Warren Wilson MFA Program since 1989. A MacArthur Fellow and chancellor of the Academy of American Poets, she has published nine collections of poetry and received numerous awards including the Robert Frost Medal for lifetime achievement.
