Elaine K. Horwitz

Elaine K. Horwitz was a Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in second language anxiety, learner beliefs about language learning, and language learning strategies[2][3]. She authored 'Becoming a Language Teacher: A Practical Guide to Second Language Learning and Teaching' and served as Director of the Graduate Program in Foreign Language Education at UT Austin from 1995 to the present[3][4]. She passed away on February 16, 2022, at age 71 after a battle with glioblastoma[1][5].
