Edwin Lefevre

Edwin Lefèvre (1871–1943) was an American journalist, writer, and diplomat born in Colón, Colombia (now Panama), who became renowned for his financial expertise and his classic book 'Reminiscences of a Stock Operator,' a fictionalized account of trader Jesse Livermore. Educated as a mining engineer at Lehigh University, he began his career as a journalist at age 19 and later served as a U.S. ambassador to several European countries under President Taft.
