Edward Conze
Edward Conze (1904-1979), born Eberhard Julius Dietrich Conze in London, was a renowned scholar of Buddhism, particularly known for his translations and commentaries on the Prajñāpāramitā sutras, making Mahayana scriptures accessible to the English-speaking world. Initially influenced by Marxism, he earned a Ph.D. from Cologne University in 1928, fled Nazi Germany in 1933, and later lectured in psychology, philosophy, and comparative religion at universities in London, Oxford, and elsewhere.[1][2][4]
