Edward A. Lippman
Edward Arthur Lippman was an American musicologist and professor emeritus of musicology at Columbia University. He specialized in the history of Western musical aesthetics and ancient Greek music theory. His major works include 'Musical Thought in Ancient Greece' (1964) and 'A History of Western Musical Aesthetics' (1992), along with a three-volume anthology 'Musical Aesthetics: a Historical Reader' (1986).
