Edna O. Brien

Edna O’Brien was an Irish novelist, short-story writer, playwright, and screenwriter best known for *The Country Girls* trilogy and for fiction that explored women’s lives, desire, and social repression. Born in County Clare, she published more than twenty works of fiction and received major literary honors before her death in London in 2024.
