E. W. Johns

William Earl Johns (1893–1968) was an English author and First World War pilot best known for creating the fictional air-adventurer Biggles. During his 46-year writing career, he produced over 160 books, including nearly 100 Biggles titles, drawing on his personal experiences as a Royal Flying Corps pilot to create authentic aviation-themed adventure stories.
