E Lynn Harris
E. Lynn Harris (born Everette Lynn Jeter) was an American author best known for his novels depicting African-American men who were on the down-low and closeted, pioneering black gay literature. After graduating with honors in journalism from the University of Arkansas and working as a computer sales executive for companies like IBM, he self-published his debut novel Invisible Life in 1991, achieving ten consecutive New York Times bestsellers. He passed away in 2009 at age 54 from heart disease.
