E. D. Hirsch Jr.
E. D. Hirsch Jr. is an American educator, literary critic, and education reformer best known for his concept of 'cultural literacy' and for founding the Core Knowledge Foundation. Born in 1928 in Memphis, Tennessee, he is a professor emeritus of education and humanities at the University of Virginia and has authored influential books such as 'Cultural Literacy' and 'The Knowledge Deficit'.
