Duncan J. Watts
Duncan J. Watts is a computational social scientist and author specializing in network science, social dynamics, and the analysis of large-scale digital data. Born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, he earned a B.Sc. in physics from the University of New South Wales and a Ph.D. in theoretical and applied mechanics from Cornell University, later holding positions at Columbia University, Yahoo Research, Microsoft Research, and currently as Stevens University Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. His notable books include 'Small Worlds: The Dynamics of Networks between Order and Randomness' (1999), 'Six Degrees: The Science of a Connected Age' (2003), and 'Everything is Obvious: Once You Know the Answer' (2011).
